Hey young bird explorers! I’m super excited to tell you all about my amazing trip to a special place called Latpanchar. On June 28, 2026, I went on an adventure, and guess what? I saw an incredibly beautiful bird! Get ready to hear about my Grey Peacock-Pheasant Latpanchar discovery!

My Journey to the Land of Birds

My trip started with a bus ride to a town called Siliguri. From there, my awesome guide, Ujwal Rai, met me. Ujwal is super good at finding birds, and he drove me deep into the forest to Latpanchar. It felt like going on a secret mission to find treasure!

An Unforgettable Bird: The Grey Peacock-Pheasant Latpanchar

The biggest highlight was spotting the incredible Grey Peacock-Pheasant! Imagine a bird wearing a fancy grey and brown suit, but with lots of shiny, sparkly blue spots all over its feathers. These spots look like tiny, bright eyes! This special pheasant was walking slowly on the forest floor, carefully looking for food. Its head had a cool, fluffy crest, and its eyes were bright yellow.

It was really special to see this bird because it’s very shy and good at hiding. Even with its bright spots, its feathers help it blend in with the leaves and branches. It’s like a master of disguise!

Other Amazing Sightings

Before seeing our main star, I also had a really sweet surprise: I saw tiny Rufous-necked Hornbill babies peeking out of their nest! They were so fluffy and cute, it made my heart happy.
